About Goucher College: Named one of the top 10 most innovative colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Goucher College has also been recognized as a College that Changes Lives. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, Goucher is a private, non-profit liberal arts college dedicated to teaching our students to be complex problem solvers, prepared for the jobs of the future. A Goucher education focuses on creating lifelong learners and global changemakers through an interdisciplinary, international education that affords 100% of our students the opportunity to study abroad. Job Description: Goucher College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Integrative Data Analytics within the Center for Data, Mathematical, and Computational Sciences. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the mathematical and computational foundations of data science with a Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.

Goucher’s Integrative Data Analytics (IDA) program offers interdisciplinary data science specializations. Demonstration of applied data science applications and interdisciplinary experience is highly desirable, but not required. This may include artificial intelligence, machine learning or geographic information systems. The teaching load is five courses per year (20 credits) with a focus on foundational courses such as statistics, machine learning, and linear algebra. Ongoing scholarly research and service to the College are expected. Candidates must have a clearly articulated research program in data science or applied analytics that includes undergraduate research opportunities.

Candidates will assist in growing the new IDA program and help further develop the College’s Data Analytics graduation requirement. The IDA program includes interdisciplinary specializations, which give both students and faculty opportunities to collaborate with other disciplines in classroom, internships, and research projects.

Goucher College endeavors to be a model teaching and learning community where faculty and students are engaged with one another in learning both inside and outside of the traditional classroom. Teaching is paramount. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to students from diverse backgrounds and a dedication to engaged pedagogies that support equity and student success. Application materials should clearly articulate contributions to the college’s commitment to diversity and equity, and the candidate's interest in teaching at a small liberal arts institution.
