Mathematics Clinical Position Description

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a Clinical Faculty position in Mathematics to begin in September 2023. The successful candidate will teach six introductory-level mathematics courses during the academic year. The teaching, coordination, assessment, and development of specialized content for Finite Mathematics courses will be a focus of the position. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the administration of all mathematics remediation efforts for the department via teaching the remedial mathematics courses Math 005 and 006 offered by the department and lead individualized remedial topics (primarily algebra and trigonometry) during the academic year.  The successful candidate will also serve as liaison for our students working with Disabilities Resources Enhancement Services.

 

Clinical faculty at the University of St. Thomas are qualified in a given field or discipline by having established records as accomplished practitioners or by having made significant contributions to the arts, sciences or their profession. Clinical appointments are non-tenure track appointments that are subject to one-year renewals. Applicants must have a B.S. or B.A in Mathematics and at minimum an M.S. or M.A. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. The applicants must also be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and candidates with training or experience in the administration of mathematical remediation programs are strongly preferred.
