Research Fellow (103872 - 0621) Salary £30,942 - £40,322 per annum Location - University of Warwick, Coventry Full time, fixed term contract available until 31 March 2023. Start date to be agreed with the successful candidate. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position, working in collaboration with Dr T. Damoulas and Prof. A. Johansen on the EPSRC and Lloyds Register Foundation funded project “Robust Scalable Sequential Monte Carlo with application to Urban Air Quality” (https://gow.epsrc.ukri.org/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/T004134/1). Mentorship and support will be provided to allow the successful candidates to develop their personal research profile. The position will be based at the Departments of Statistics and Computer Science at the University of Warwick. The postholder will work closely in collaboration with the rest of the project team and also Theo’s group at the Data Centric Engineering programme at the Alan Turing Institute in London. The postholder will also liaise with software engineers at The Turing and domain experts at Greater London Authority and Transport for London. Candidates with strong backgrounds in Gaussian processes and compositions, hierarchical Bayesian methods and probabilistic machine learning are particularly encouraged to apply. Strong programming skills are required to interface with the existing body of work and familiarity with PostgreSQL, GPU/distributed compute and Cloud-based computing such as the Microsoft Azure platform will be appreciated.
