Academic position in Actuarial Science

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for the position of Distinguished Lecturer.  The requirement for the position is the applicant be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. This is a full-time academic position, renewable each year, and has a seven year limit lifetime. The workload for this position is the same as that of a professor in the department; the applicant must have a commitment to the teaching of actuarial mathematics.  The appointment would begin on or about August 25, 2018.
The department offers undergraduate majors in mathematics, financial mathematics, and actuarial science. Our expanding actuarial curriculum currently covers four SOA preliminary exams and VEE for Finance, Economics and Statistics. At the graduate level we offer an MS degree in Financial Engineering.
