The Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full time tenure-track assistant professor position to begin in the fall semester of 2018 (AA# 53-7-086). The Department currently offers majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Digital Forensics, and courses in Data Science. Preference will be given to applicants with strong backgrounds in Data Science or Computational Statistics and interest in teaching courses in those areas. An earned Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required by August 17, 2018. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate courses with effective use of technology, research, and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is preferred. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching, research, continuous scholarly activity and service is required for tenure. Finalists for the positions must communicate well and successfully complete a teaching/research demonstration and an interview process. Bloomsburg University, a member of Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is consistently ranked among the best Regional Colleges in the North Region. Bloomsburg is a premier public university with approximately 10,000 students enrolled across four academic divisions. The University offers 55 undergraduate majors, 47 undergraduate minors, and 20 graduate programs, including a Doctor of Clinical Audiology and the new Doctor of Nursing Practice.
