We are an after-school academic math and language arts training academy that caters to high-performing students. We use the leading math curriculum in the world. Every year the Art of Problem Solving book series and website train the very best math students from around the world, including our own United States International Math Olympiad championship team. Art of Problem Solving is at the forefront of comprehensive math education, and we value giving our students the best education possible.

As our Assistant Campus Director in Vienna, VA, you will be working closely with the Campus Director supervising our dedicated staff of teaching professionals, meeting with parents and students, teaching several core math classes, and assisting with community outreach efforts.

We will open up to 5 new AoPS Academy centers around the United States in 2018. Priority will be given to candidates who are interested in being promoted to a Campus Director role in one of these new locations in Summer 2018.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise instructors of our high-performing students (check out the short bios of our instructors:

  • Meet and greet with parents and current/potential students, provide information about our program, and resolve any questions or concerns.

  • Work with Community Outreach Coordinator to increase AoPS Academy‚Äôs profile in the local community and act as liaison at public events.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Academy in coordination with the main office.

  • Teach elementary and secondary mathematics courses as needed in after school hours (include weekends, weekday evenings, and summer).

  • Work in dynamic, participation-oriented classes that focus on instruction and developing skill sets, not on rote memorization.

  • Oversee small classes (average size of 12 students) consisting of top-performing elementary, middle, and high school students who are passionate about math and motivated to succeed.

  • Work in a flexible, family-friendly company with a strong sense of mission.


  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred.

  • The ideal applicant has experience working with parents and students. The ability to teach math up through at least a middle school level is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills both in writing and face-to-face are a must, as the job requires a great deal of internal and external communication.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The salary of Campus Director and Assistant Campus Director is comparable to college faculty with similar experience and qualifications.
