We seek a curriculum developer for our team who will create innovative and engaging mathematical content to challenge world-class mathematics students in the Art of Problem Solving Online School ( Our WASC-accredited online school has had over 15,000 class enrollments in the past year.

The AoPS Online School helps motivated students to reach their full potential in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and programming. Almost all of the top contestants at MATHCOUNTS Nationals and the USA Mathematical Olympiad for the past decade have studied with AoPS materials and classes. Our school offers courses that provide an in-depth understanding of the material taught in the best middle school and high school mathematics classes as well as courses in discrete mathematics topics that are rarely seen in high school.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Very strong background in mathematics, as would be provided by at least a bachelors degree in math, physics, engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • The ability to invent fresh and original mathematical problems that inspire creative problem-solving in high-ability students.
  • Enough experience working with middle and high school students so as to be able to anticipate common points of confusion. 

The curriculum writer will work full time in-house (in our office in San Diego, CA). Benefits include vacation time, health insurance, and participation in our retirement plan.
