The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Delaware State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Mathematics Education starting in the Fall of 2018. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, and Mathematics Education; Master's degrees in Mathematics; and Ph.D.’s. in Interdisciplinary Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. Delaware State University (DSU) has a diverse faculty and student population of more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. DSU headquarters is located in Dover, Delaware and there are campuses in Wilmington and Georgetown, Delaware. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and a Master’s degree in Mathematics and/or Mathematics Education is required. The candidate must have exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrate excellence in effective teaching and scholarly potential. Interest and experience with diverse populations, educational technology, and assessment is preferred. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate mathematics courses, teach undergraduate mathematics education K-12 content and methods courses; provide academic advising; provide student teaching supervising in the field; work collaboratively with colleagues in the department of Mathematical Sciences, the Education Department, and K-12 schools; actively participate in university and community service; participate or demonstrate leadership in curriculum development and professional development activities.
