... invites applications for postdoctoral positions in commutative algebra

The positions will be funded by Dr. Shaul's project "Cohen-Macaulay rings and their applications in higher algebra and topology" awarded by the Czech Science Foundation. There are no teaching duties and knowledge of Czech is not necessary.

Applicants should have working knowledge of homological algebra, and experience with derived categories is preferred. Applicants with experience in the theory of ring spectra are also welcome to apply.

Due to restrictions of the grant agency, applicants age must not exceed 35 years in 2019, and applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years excluding maternity and parental leave, and sick leave in the case of a long-term illness.

The expected duration of the position is May 1, 2020 - December 31, 2022 (the starting and ending dates are negotiable).

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is leading institution in mathematics in Czechia, with highly motivated and well educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, covering most of the major areas of mathematics.

The Department of Algebra, where the position will be hosted, offers an open minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research. We currently have about 15 permanent and 10 postdoctoral positions, with over a quarter of these positions held by international researchers.
