Mathematical Institute, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University (Prague)

invites applications for a doctoral fellowship in study program Mathematical and Computer Modeling (0541VD170011).

The size of grant is 400 Eur a month. It will be funded by the project "Partial differential equations describing far-from-equilibrium open systems" awarded by the Czech Science Foundation (PI: Miroslav Bulíček). There are no teaching duties and knowledge of Czech is not necessary.

Applicants should have working knowledge of nonlinear partial differential equations, dynamical systems and fluid dynamics.

The expected duration of the fellowship is October 1, 2021 - September 31, 2023. It can be extended up to the complete doctoral studies.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is leading institution in mathematics in Czech Republic, with highly motivated and well educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, covering most of the major areas of mathematics.

The group of Mathematical modelling at Mathematical institute, where the position will be hosted, offers an open minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research.

The application procedure will begin on April 19, 2021. It has two parts - selection for the fellowship and official enrollment approval. Applicants are evaluated by selection panel till April 23, 2021. This may include also personal interview through Zoom. After successfully passing the selection, the candidate must enroll to doctoral program of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University (Prague) till April 30, 2021 and succesfully pass the admission procedure.
