The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, Prague opens a postdoc position within the ERC-CZ Grant LL2105, supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic: ”The interaction of fluids and solids”.

Project description: Fluid solid interaction happens in many everyday instan- ces. Examples are blood flow, the motion of airplanes or floating (elastic) objects. The scientific challenge is sub-summarized in the free interaction interface between the solid and the fluid–the variable domain. The project is outlined for five years over which we aim to advance the theory and the numerics on fluid-structure interactions from various ends.

Job description: We seek researchers to strengthen the team of Sebastian Schwarzacher at the Departement of Mathematical Analysis and, in particular, to apply/develop analysis or numerics to fluid-structure problems studied within the project.
