The Department of Computer Science at Reed College invites applications for a two-year visiting faculty position, rank open, beginning in the fall of 2020. Applicants should be committed to excellence in their teaching and scholarship and are expected to have a Ph.D. in computer science by the time of their appointment, though applicants with a strong record of teaching and research in related fields are encouraged to apply as well. The successful candidate will teach core and elective courses in computer science to support the computer science major. In addition to their major courses, all Reed seniors pursue a year-long independent thesis study as part of their graduation requirements. The visitor we seek will be expected to direct computer science thesis projects of several senior students for each year of their appointment.

Reed is a distinguished liberal arts college with approximately 1400 students that offers a demanding academic program to bright and dedicated undergraduates.
