A postdoctoral position is available to work on the development, analysis and application of quantitative models of dynamic cellular phenotypes in mathematical oncology. The position will be jointly supervised by Professor Jasmine Foo (School of Mathematics, University of Minnesota) and Professor Shannon Mumenthaler (Ellison Institute, University of Southern California). It is anticipated that the postdoctoral researcher will spend time at both the University of Minnesota and the Ellison Institute/USC. This position is partially supported by the NIH and involves close collaboration with a vibrant, interdisciplinary team of mathematicians, engineers and biologists. Career development training, networking and mentorship opportunities will also be provided.

We seek candidates with a strong background in several of the following areas: mathematical modeling of biological phenomena, cancer biology, stochastic analysis, statistics, and computation. In addition, candidates should be interested in working with experimental/ clinical datasets.

The preferred starting date will be the summer of 2022. The term of appointment will be initially two years, with extension possible depending on funding.

Applications will be reviewed starting December 1, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit an AMS cover sheet, complete curriculum vitae, a description of their research background and interest in this project, and at least three letters of recommendation to http://www.mathjobs.org under the banner Mathematical Biology. Any offer of employment will be contingent on a successful background check.
