The Department of Mathematics seeks an organized, energetic individual to coordinate the undergraduate program and teach two Math courses per year. This individual is responsible for staffing all lower level Math courses that service the entire undergraduate student population at the University of Maryland College Park.

As a Senior Faculty Specialist the individual will be responsible for teaching two Math courses per year and staffing all lower level undergraduate – Pure Math, Applied Math and Statistics – courses during the academic year. This involves placing over 100+ TAs, 30+ term lecturers and over 30+ undergraduate/graduate graders to the appropriate courses/sections. This position also manages the math placement exam and advising students about the exam during the various orientations given throughout the academic year. This position will also be responsible for managing the budgets and systems that the Office of Extended Studies uses in order to schedule their summer and freshman connection courses. This position requires strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight time constraints. The Senior Faculty Specialist serves as part of a team in the Department’s undergraduate office. Compensation is commensurate with responsibilities.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education and three years of experience, experience with database management and electronic record keeping systems, excellent interpersonal skills – ability to interact greatly with all levels of campus to include students, staff and faculty, and excellent organizational skills.
