Postdoctoral/Research Professor at POSTECH Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) BK21 Mathematical Science Division invites outstanding young researchers: • BK21 Postdoc or Research Professor(contract-based position) in all fields of mathematics. The positions are open to mathematicians of any nationality who are fluent in English. 1. Qualification: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a related discipline with an outstanding research record. For contract faculty positions, applicants must have at least one year of experience in industry, education, or research after obtaining a doctoral degree. During the employment period, early-career researchers are not allowed to hold any dual affiliations outside their host university. Individuals falling under any of the following categories are not eligible for employment as early-career researchers. (Exception: Contracts with external universities for part-time lectures are permitted under Article 14-2 of the Higher Education Act.) a. Former faculty members who have retired (including through mandatory or honorary retirement) from a university. (including main and branch campuses) b. Individuals on leave from another university (main or branch campus) or institution. c. Individuals currently on sabbatical from another university (main or branch campus) or institution. 2. Contract information (a) Starting date: September 1, 2025 (Starting date is negotiable). Additional Information If any information in the submitted documents is found to be false, the offer of appointment may be revoked. Applicants with prior work experience at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) must clearly state this in their application. If no suitable candidate is found, the position may remain unfilled. In the event of early termination of the BK21 program, the contract period may be shortened accordingly. Applicants who have been dismissed from POSTECH due to disciplinary action within the last three years are not eligible for employment. 6. However, if the employment documents are lost due to a natural disaster or other reasons not responsible to the recruiter, the recruiter shall be deemed to have fulfilled the obligation to return the employment documents under paragraph (1). ④ Where the period for requesting the return prescribed by Presidential Decree has elapsed and where the employment documents have not been returned, the job applicant shall destroy the employment documents pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act. ⑤ In principle, expenses incurred in returning employment documents under paragraph (1) shall be borne by the recruiter.
