Open one or two year Postdocs positions on Surrogate Models for Uncertainty Quantification (UQ), at the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas (CIMAT-SECIHTI, México). We are a UQ research group based at CIMAT and UNAM, and within the project “Physics informed surrogate models for Bayesian Uncertainty Quantification (BUQ)” are seeking two postdocs. The position will involve basic research to develop specific surrogate models for BUQ. Surrogate models of the underlying PDEs in the Bayesian Inverse problem (or BUQ) are sough, as Physics informed interpolators, multiscale models, PINNs etc. Expertise in at least one of the following subjects is desired: Inverse Problems, Numerical Analysis of PDEs, Bayesian Statistics, MCMC, and experience in high level programming (Python). The postdoc will be paid by a foreign agency grant. The postdoc will involve working with the group at Guanajuato city at CIMAT and the group at UNAM in Mexico city; if little experience is held on BUQ, a learning phase within the postdoc time will be planned by the research group and the applicant.
