As part of the Max Planck Humboldt Research Award hosted by the University of Bonn, Professors Stroppel and Williamson are seeking to appoint up to three

Postdoctoral Positions

The initial appointment will be for two (2) years with a possible one (1) year reappointment. Expected starting date is no later than October 2025. Generally, there are no teaching obligations, but such opportunities are provided if desired by the candidates. 

The successful candidates will work on a project attacking difficult questions in representation theory, topology and combinatorics via computational and machine learning methods. The successful applicant will have a strong background in pure mathematics aligned with the goals of this project. Experience with computation and AI methods is an advantage, however opportunities to learn and deepen knowledge of these techniques will be available. This research will be conducted in collaboration with the Sydney Mathematical Research Institute, and there will be an opportunity to spend time at the University of Sydney as part of this project.

Applicants who have not yet completed their PhD are requested to include a two page summary of their dissertation project as well as a detailed evaluation written by his/her supervisor.
