The TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) welcomes applications for a Postdoc Position in Representation Theory m/f/d, initially for two years, 100% position starting October 01, 2025 or later. The position is based within the research group of Deniz Kus, Professor for Representation Theory at the Department of Mathematics, part of the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT), located on the Garching Campus. The group is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a postdoctoral position who possesses: • A doctoral degree in mathematics or a closely related field. • An outstanding publication record, commensurate with experience, and a strong background in at least two of the following areas: Hopf algebras, quantum affine algebras, algebraic Lie Theory, number theoretical aspects of representation theory, structure theory of Kac-Moody algebras, geometric/combinatorial representation theory, quiver representation theory. • Some experience with SageMath, polymake or other related mathematical software. • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of German is not required. In addition, the successful candidate will be highly motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Her/his responsibilities will include conducting research with other group members and external collaborators,contributing to teaching activities, and participating in various activities of the group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in research within a dynamic, interdisciplinary and international environment on the Garching Campus of TUM, collaborating with several research groups working in related fields, particularly in algebraic geometry and algorithmic algebra. The position is a full-time position (100%), initially for two years, with the possibility of extension. The starting date is flexible, from October 2025 onwards. The position is paid according to the Federal States civil service pay scale up to TV-L 13, with the actual salary depending on academic experience, tax classification etc. Travel support for attending conferences, workshops, etc. will be available.
