The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Sciences seeks to fill this position as soon as possible.

The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.

The successful candidate is an acknowledged expert in the analysis of partial differential equations, in particular of evolutionary type. He or she will represent the field in research and teaching and contribute to the general teaching duties of the department. Committed cooperation within the department’s core research area "Analysis and Numerics", which is focussed on the theory and numerics of partial differential equations, with particular emphasis on models of mathematical physics, is expected.

Prerequisites include a completed university degree and doctorate. The appointment first is for three or four years, with an extension to six years after successful evaluation.
