Position Description

St. Lawrence University invites applications for a new tenure-track position in Data Science or a related field, at the assistant professor level within the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics,to begin on August 15, 2024. Our growing department currently has fourteen full-time faculty members and supports robust majors in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, and Data Science. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to our core courses and potentially expand our elective offerings in Data Science. The teaching expectation at St. Lawrence is three courses per semester. The university offers generous support for conference travel as well as an option for a pre-tenure sabbatical.

Minimum Qualification

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field by August 15, 2024, a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, and evidence of excellence in teaching and research potential.

Salary Range $84,000 - $95,000 annually. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
