Instructor of Mathematics

Millsaps College

The Mathematics Department at Millsaps College invites applicants for a full-time, continually appointed Instructor of Mathematics beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate will teach eight (8) courses per academic year. Candidates with experience, and demonstrated success, in college-level teaching will be especially competitive.

Qualifications

·        Master’s or Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics required by the start of the appointment

·        Passion and effectiveness in teaching

·        Familiarity with and commitment to inclusive pedagogy, diversity and equity

 

About Continually Appointed Positions

Continually appointed faculty at the rank of Instructor are initially subject to reappointment on a year-to-year basis, with the possibility of future conferral of multi-year contracts and promotions to the ranks of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer, analogous to the tenure-track ranks of Associate Professor and Professor, respectively.
