Position Description
DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
STANFORD UNIVERSITY
The
Department of Mathematics at Stanford University seeks to hire one or more
Lecturers. The possible appointments are for one to three years, beginning in
September 2024; with the possibility of renewal for an additional one or two
years. Outstanding candidates from any field of mathematics are encouraged to
apply.
Candidates
are expected to show demonstrated excellence in teaching and will be expected
to teach courses primarily at the undergraduate level. They must have received
the PhD prior to the start of the appointment, but not before 2018.

should send a CV and list of publications; brief statement of teaching
experience, along with any supporting information (teaching evaluations,
teaching awards, etc.) which indicate teaching ability; a teaching letter and
two additional letters of reference. A research statement can be included
but is not required.

The expected pay range for this position is $83,900 -
$86,415. Stanford University provides
pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university
reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected
candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the
scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected
candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic
location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
