Position Description

Position Description:

Dr. Jason Bramburger and Dr. Simone Brugiapaglia seek to hire one Postdoctoral Researcher to collaborate on producing novel analytical results that justify the performance of data-driven methods for dynamical systems analysis, as well as the application of these methods to complex models and datasets. The work will make use of results from approximation theory and harmonic analysis and will be applied to a wide variety of problems in dynamical systems such as system identification from data, discovering optimal changes of variables, and the creation of reduced-order models. Computation is essential to the research and will play an important role in exploring the theories coming from the results of this program. A PhD in applied mathematics or a closely related field is required by the start date. Applicants should have strong analysis skills, as well as experience with some of the following topics:

The anticipated start date is September 2025, but this is flexible. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for a second year contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of funds. Salary is expected to be at least 50,000 CAD annually. Teaching is not required, but there are opportunities to teach one or two courses per year for candidates with an appropriate background. Further funds will be provided for academic travel. Salary and other resources can be increased through fellowships; please contact Prof. Bramburger (jason.bramburger@concordia.ca) or Prof. Brugiapaglia (simone.brugiapaglia@concordia.ca) as soon as possible to pursue these options. If possible, apply by October 31 in order to be considered for the CRM-ISM Postdoctoral Fellowship, which provides significant additional funding.

How to Apply:

Please apply through https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/list/25000. Include a brief cover letter describing relevant experience, a CV that includes a publication list, a research statement, and three reference letters. Applications are reviewed on a continuous basis and will be accepted until the position is filled.
