Position Description

The Wake Forest University Department of Mathematics is seeking applications for potential Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning Fall semester 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and will be accepted until positions are filled. We seek highly qualified candidates who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and possess experience teaching calculus at the university level. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related area is preferred, but exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree in mathematics or a related area will also be considered. The department has 17 tenure-track faculty, two teaching professionals, and five teacher-scholar postdocs. The department offers both a B.A. and a B.S. in Mathematics, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. The department also has a graduate program offering an M.S. in Mathematics. The teaching load for this position is three courses per semester, primarily teaching calculus. This one-year position is renewable for up to three years depending on performance and department need.
