Position Description
The National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) Mathematics Division invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellows starting appointments either in the spring or fall of 2026. The NCTS is an international research center in mathematics and theoretical physics, supported by the National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan and the National Taiwan University. NCTS postdoctoral fellows conduct research in NCTS under the guidance of their mentors. For more information about NCTS, please visit https://ncts.ntu.edu.tw/.
Description
We have the spring appointment and the fall appointment.
- The spring appointment starts from February 1, 2026
- The fall appointment starts from August 1, 2026
The duration of either appointment is 1 to 2 years and is extendable up to a total of 3 years. The NCTS also provides its postdocs generous research related funds for travelling overseas to attend conferences or to visit research institutions abroad. Support for Chinese Language Class is also available for NCTS international postdocs. The NCTS will consider applications from all research areas in mathematics, priority will be given to applicants working in a field closely related to one of the following subjects:
- Number Theory and Representation Theory
- Algebraic Geometry
- Differential Geometry and Geometric Analysis
- Differential Equations
- Scientific Computing
- Interdisciplinary Studies
- Analysis and Probability
- Mathematical foundations for AI
Applicants are encouraged to suggest potential NCTS mentors from mathematicians based in Taiwan.
