Foundations (Pure Mathematics)

The Department of Mathematics at Tufts University invites applications for a tenure-track position in pure mathematics, beginning Fall 2026. The position is at the assistant professor level. Research fields of interest include, but are not limited to, Algebra, Dynamical Systems, Geometry, and Topology. The successful candidate will exhibit the potential to collaborate with colleagues in the department and across Tufts University. Applicants must hold a doctorate in Mathematics or a related field by the beginning of the appointment, have an active research program, show promise of outstanding research, and exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. A successful candidate will develop and teach courses in a variety of mathematical areas at all levels of the curriculum.

Applications should include a cover letter discussing their interest in Tufts specifically, a curriculum vitae, a research statement, and a teaching statement which includes discussion of courses the candidate would like to offer.
