Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral position in Geometric Analysis, beginning July 1, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The postdoctoral scholar will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator on research in Lagrangian geometry and fully nonlinear partial differential equations, including the construction of minimal Lagrangians in complex hyperbolic space and their connections to special Lagrangian geometry. The position includes structured mentorship with regular research meetings, clearly defined publication goals, and support for conference participation and professional development. The postdoc will also co-lead a biweekly graduate learning seminar, gaining supervised experience in mentoring and seminar facilitation, and will participate in a formal Individual Development Plan process designed to support long-term career advancement.

Minimum education and experience requirements: A Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related field.
