Position Description

Trinity College invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Beginning July 1, 2027, the position offers a competitive salary/benefits package, monetary support for research, a 4-course teaching load (2/2) for the first two years, and a 5-course teaching load (3/2) thereafter. Requirements: a Ph. D. in mathematics or applied mathematics, with a strong potential for sustained research in applied mathematics with a focus on applications in the life sciences; evidence of effective teaching; a description in teaching and research statements of how the candidate will continue to develop their teaching and research at an undergraduate institution like Trinity, with a strong preference for involving undergraduates in research. A complete application consists of (1) a letter of application explaining the candidate's interest in and fit with the position; (2) a curriculum vitae; (3) a statement of teaching philosophy that addresses teaching to a diverse student audience; (4) a research summary that addresses how the candidate will involve undergraduate students in their research.
